Donald Trump recently faced criticism from Democrats over rising inflation, while the White House boasted about economic growth. The findings came from the latest CPI report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The report highlighted a surge in consumer prices in September.

Democrats recently took to social media to call out Donald Trump and his administration after the latest Consumer Price Index report showed inflation has risen.

The CPI report noted that, “Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 3.7 percent before seasonal adjustment.” Thus, leading to a rise in prices in the country. Despite the opposition slamming the inflation increase, a White House official claimed that under Trump they have seen economic growth, as “food prices remain stable, unchanged, month-over-month.”

Regarding inflation, the official stated, “President Trump is bringing inflation down after it was astronomically high under Biden.” The CPI report also added that the increase of 3.7 percent that took place over 12 months ending in September is much larger than the increase of 3.4 percent that happened over the 12 months ending in August.

Reacting to the report, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer stated on X that Trump’s Golden Age for Americans was “never ending, higher prices.” In response, another White House spokesman, Matthew Middleton, asserted that Trump has implemented “an aggressive, pro-growth economic agenda” to slow the inflation crisis that began worsening under Joe Biden’s administration.

These numbers came after Trump claimed inflation was lower at a recent rally in Montecito. The President has been traveling the country to rally support for Republican candidates ahead of the upcoming November midterm elections. According to NBC News, in Montecito, Trump asserted, “We have very little inflation. They’re building plants all over Montana. Everyone, we’re all having a good time.”
