Dolly Parton’s Estate Battle Fuels On as Nephew Makes New Claims

Dolly Parton passed away on August 25, 2026. However, her name continues to make headlines, largely because of the ongoing legal battle over her estate. Now, new claims from her nephew Bryan Seaver have added another twist to the dispute.

Bryan Seaver claims his messages about Dolly Parton’s brand were business threats, not physical ones

The American singer’s nephew claims that his threatening text messages have been taken out of context. The messages are at the center of his legal dispute with Parton’s business associates. According to Page Six coverage, Bryan Seaver insists that the messages were private exchanges with a longtime friend about a business dispute.

In a new court filing, the 49-year-old makes claims against Dolly Parton’s longtime manager, Danny Nozell. He argues that Nozell encouraged him to publicize his military and weapons-related background. Seaver claims Nozell later cited those same messages as evidence of his threatening behavior. He also alleges that Nozell urged him to promote his background as a weapons dealer and mercenary.

Bryan admits using profane language in the messages, including threatening to destroy the singer’s brand partnerships. However, he argues that he meant to damage business relationships and reputations, not physically harm anyone. According to the court filing, the messages were sent in the weeks surrounding Dolly Parton’s death on August 25. These messages are at the heart of the dispute.

According to the nephew of the singer famous for “I Will Always Love You,” the dispute has drawn unwanted media attention to his family. In his affidavit, he claims reporters repeatedly showed up at his home and contacted his wife and children. They even tried to reach his wife’s 96-year-old grandmother. He says his 17-year-old son installed barbed wire on the front steps to keep reporters away.

For context, the estate case involves a legal dispute over the fortune and business empire of legendary American country singer Dolly Parton. Her fortune was estimated at around $450 million. The dispute came to light in September 2026. On September 22, 2026, She’s Alive LLC and Danny Nozell filed a lawsuit against Bryan Seaver. The company manages Parton’s estate, while Nozell is her longtime manager.
