Stassi Schroeder, 38, discussed her experience filming House of Stassi in conversation with Us Weekly for its Reality Stars of the Year issue.
Schroeder spoke about filming the show with her family, explaining that acknowledging the cameras was important to the series’ authenticity. She said, “It was definitely intentional. I knew going into it that I wanted to acknowledge the fact that we were making a television show. I’ve been doing this for a long time, so pretending that cameras and producers don’t exist felt very strange to me. We had to acknowledge the cameras in order to create the realest show we possibly could.”
House of Stassi Season 1 on Hulu focuses on Stassi Schroeder’s career, life with her husband, and children as she tries to balance her life.
Schroeder also shared how her relationship with Clark evolved following the show.
She said, “[Beau’s] doing really well. We had a lot of conversations about everything after we finished filming, so by the time the show aired. We had already worked through a lot of it together. I think we both feel really good about where we are now and are in the most honest place we’ve ever been.”
When asked about any changed dynamics in the family following the show, she said, “I think anytime you put your group dynamics on television, there are going to be conversations afterward. We’ve all had to process watching certain moments back and seeing the other person’s point of view. And if we get a season 2, I’m sure there will be plenty more to unpack.”
Schroeder said they were all real on the show. She added that if she wanted a polished version, she would have posted on Instagram instead of making a reality show.
Following the show, Schroeder said she has become more resilient and self-aware. The reality star also shared that there is currently no official news about Season 2. However, she would love to keep going.
