What happens in the Terrestrial trailer?
The trailer for Terrestrial follows Allen, a rising science-fiction writer, who hosts a chaotic weekend reunion with his college friends in a lavish Hollywood Hills mansion. But things don’t take long to descend into paranoia, psychological tension, and unexpected sci-fi/alien horror-thriller.
In the trailer, Allen is shown to have transformed from a struggling, car-living writer into a wealthy homeowner with a luxury mansion, a fountain, a vintage Mustang, and a massive book and movie deal. He invites his college friends over to celebrate his big break, but they are actually there on a wellness check called in by his worried mother.
Soon then, Alex’s friends start noticing his erratic, paranoid, and delusional behavior. Not only does his timeline have glaring holes, but he also struggles to give a convincing summary of his supposedly major sci-fi novel.
Ultimately, as strange instances occur around the house, including a mysterious covered guesthouse, the boundary between reality, imagination, and a psychedelic, otherworldly encounter soon begins to shatter.
Terrestrial made its world premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival in 2025 and is scheduled to premiere in theaters on October 23, 2026.
