Layla Taylor says MomTok remains strong after Mikayla Matthews’ exit and Taylor Frankie Paul feud

In an exclusive interview with E! News, Layla Taylor addressed the recent shakeup on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Mikayla Matthews announced her exit from the show amid a feud with Taylor Frankie Paul, who also left Mormon Wives.

Layla Taylor said, “For the women that are still involved, [we’re] strong. You’ll see a lot of a healthy dynamic in season six, and I’m excited for the audience to see that.”

The recent drama surrounding Mormon Wives has affected the cast, but Taylor said she was “hoping for the best” despite everything that has happened.

“Right now, I’m just day by day. This is obviously such a hard experience and everything that’s been happening has been very hard to navigate.”

Taylor also discussed her friendship with Paul and explained why she had decided to distance herself from her.

“No. I think for me personally, the behaviors in her relationship were hard to watch, and then she started to be hateful towards my friends and me and say some really harmful things.”

Paul’s relationship with some of her former co-stars has remained strained in recent months amid her legal battle. Paul is involved in a legal custody dispute with her ex, Dakota Mortensen, over their 2-year-old son. The former couple has also made allegations of domestic violence against each other.

The domestic violence dispute surfaced while Paul and Mortensen were filming a new season, temporarily halting production. Paul later criticized the cast on Instagram, accusing them of making public statements while she was dealing with the legal dispute.

While Layla Taylor has firm views about her friendship with Paul, she continues to wish her well. Taylor said, “I wish her well. But I think personally, for me and my mental health, I need to take a step back.”

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 premiered on September 10, while Season 6 is currently in production.
