Hilaria Baldwin Inserts Herself Into Andy Cohen’s Babysitter Pay Drama

Hilaria Baldwin entered Andy Cohen’s babysitter pay drama with some advice of her own. Cohen recently revealed that he pays $30 an hour for childcare. Baldwin suggested the Bravo host could afford to raise the rate. However, she initially acknowledged that Cohen’s rate might be fairly standard. She then compared his approach with husband Alec Baldwin’s and joked that Cohen’s sitters could come work for her family instead.

While speaking with Page Six at the Virtual Reali-Tea Awards in New York City, Hilaria Baldwin addressed the growing debate around Andy Cohen’s babysitter pay.

At first, Baldwin said $30 an hour was “probably standard.” Still, she suggested that Alec paid the people helping their family more generously. The Baldwins share seven children, so childcare has long played a major role in their household.

Baldwin then jokingly invited Cohen’s sitters to switch sides. More importantly, when asked whether Andy Cohen should increase his rate, she encouraged him to “pick it up.”

The babysitter pay drama started after Cohen discussed childcare costs with Jeff Lewis on Andy Cohen Live. Cohen said he paid a 23-year-old sitter $70 for two hours and 15 minutes with his children, Ben and Lucy.

Lewis quickly challenged that amount. He said his own sitter received about $37 an hour and questioned whether Cohen’s $30 rate was enough for two children.

Cohen later defended himself by asking friends what they pay for childcare. In fact, he even pulled Kelly Ripa into the babysitter debate while comparing rates after Lewis called him “cheap.”

Meanwhile, Hilaria Baldwin’s comments added another familiar name to the discussion. She and Andy Cohen already share some Bravo history. Cohen previously revealed that the two had discussed a possible Real Housewives role for Baldwin before she landed her own family reality series.

For now, Cohen has stood by his babysitter pay, saying friends told him the rate was comparable. Nevertheless, Baldwin clearly believed there was room for a raise.

Her message to Andy Cohen was playful but direct: when it came to childcare pay, she thought he could do better.
