Ripa shared the story during an episode of LIVE! alongside her husband, Mark Consuelos, as reported by RadarOnline.com. She said the incident happened when Stewart appeared on the show in 2013. At the time, the performance area featured a mirror floor.
Ripa explained that she had been interviewing Stewart while standing above the mirrored surface. Stewart then noticed something that immediately concerned him. “Oh, darling, I can see your knickers!” he reportedly told her.
“I realized that, for years, performers had been looking up my skirt,” Ripa said. She noted that nobody had previously said anything to her. “Thank you, Rod Stewart! Gentleman!” she added.
The story gave Ripa and Consuelos an unexpected reason to discuss Stewart. They also talked about his upcoming Final Encore tour. The tour is scheduled to feature multiple European shows from April through July 2027.
Consuelos praised what fans could expect from Stewart’s performances. “It’s going to be a lot of hits,” he said. He also called it “a great tour.”

Stewart announced his Final Encore tour in September. He said it would mark his final tour after more than six decades. However, he clarified that he was not leaving the music business entirely.
