Meghan Markle’s alleged unpopularity within the royal family has reportedly put Princess Eugenie in a “very tough spot.” According to a new report, Prince Harry’s cousin is now allegedly being forced to prioritize her standing within the royal family over her friendship with Meghan amid the ongoing controversy surrounding her parents’ scandalous past.
Princess Eugenie has to ‘think of her own standing’ before her relationship with Meghan Markle, per source
Princess Eugenie reportedly has to “think of her own standing” before she can focus on her relationship with Meghan Markle. According to Heat World, Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, were previously hit with claims of a “a rot at the heart” of the monarchy. The sisters have reportedly faced continued questions surrounding their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, and their past friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.
The two princesses have also allegedly come under renewed scrutiny over questions surrounding the funding and payment of their royal properties. Amid the mounting controversy, a source reportedly told the publication that it is hardly surprising Eugenie appears to be prioritizing her relationship with the royal family over her friendship with Meghan Markle.
The source claimed, “The word is that she’s not wrong because Eugenie is pretty anxious about upsetting William and the King.”
Meanwhile, the insider further explained, “It’s hard to have a private relationship with Meghan; there are always people watching, and Meghan also likes to put things on social media.” The source suggested that Eugenie genuinely cares about Meghan and wants to show her support, but her position within the royal family has allegedly made the situation increasingly complicated.
However, she still has to “think of her own standing.” The insider added, “She’s in a very tough spot, but for her own survival, she needs to preserve her relationship with the royals.”
