Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Neighborhood Gets New Protections

Security teams are enhancing protection in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s Montecito neighborhood following their return to the UK. The news comes after the Sussexes moved back to Britain last month following six years in California. However, the California property will remain the family’s American base as they establish a private home in Britain for the family and schooling.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly ‘worried’ about their Montecito home

After leaving their Montecito home for a new life in Britain, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle now worry about a possible burglary, according to RadarOnline.

They are away as officials ramp up emergency measures in their exclusive enclave amid persistent threats of wildfire, flooding, and mudslides. The Montecito Fire Department and Montecito Water District have joined forces to add two new temporary firefighter housing sites. As reported by Hello! Magazine, the locations will be used during periods of heightened fire danger.

Speaking about what has been worrying the Sussexes, an insider familiar with the matter shared, “Being in Britain inevitably means Harry and Meghan cannot personally keep the same eye on what is happening around their California property.”

The source added that the main local concern is wildfires and the problems that can follow. They also worry that thieves will target their home while they are away. The property holds great significance for them. Being abroad, with safety measures in place, highlights how little control they’d have in an emergency.

Meanwhile, elaborating on the initiative, Montecito Fire Chief Brian Fallon said, “By proactively positioning firefighters at these two locations on the far ends of our district, we can greatly reduce the time it takes to arrive on scene of a vegetation fire in remote wildland areas where our fire risk is the highest.”

Montecito Water District General Manager Nick Turner also welcomed the collaboration to enhance protection for residents.

Additionally, Terry Cunningham, who built Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Montecito home, admitted that he never considered weather threats. Speaking to the Daily Mail on Sunday, he highlighted mudslides as another issue, noting that builders overlooked them during construction.
