Savannah Guthrie Says Lady Gaga Had a ‘Psychic’ Connection With Her Unborn Daughter

Savannah Guthrie revisited a sweet Lady Gaga prediction after the singer welcomed her first child. The Today show anchor remembered Gaga correctly guessing her unborn daughter’s gender years before becoming a mother herself.

Guthrie shared the story while Today covered Gaga’s new family milestone. The memory involved Guthrie’s first pregnancy and a conversation that still sounded remarkably uncanny.

Savannah Guthrie revisited Lady Gaga’s memorable prediction about daughter Vale on Today

PEOPLE reported that Guthrie recalled meeting Gaga during a 2014 interview. Guthrie was pregnant with her first child, Vale, but chose not to find out the baby’s sex. Gaga then predicted that Guthrie was expecting a daughter.

“I think you’re having a girl,” Gaga told Guthrie, according to the anchor. Guthrie asked how she knew, prompting an unexpected answer. “She told me,” Gaga reportedly replied. Guthrie later described the moment as unusually sweet.

Jenna Bush Hager, Vale’s godmother, reacted with immediate disbelief. “What! Vale and Lady Gaga had a connection?!” she exclaimed on Today. “I know!” Guthrie responded. “They had a psychic message in utero.”

The story resurfaced after Gaga became a mother herself with fiancé Michael Polansky. The singer had openly discussed motherhood for years before reaching that milestone.

During a 2025 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Gaga described motherhood as her biggest personal ambition. “What I really want is to be a mom,” she said. Gaga also called it her “next starring role.”

Guthrie became a mother before that 2014 interview aired. She announced her pregnancy during her wedding to Mike Feldman.

“I — well, we — are four months pregnant,” she told wedding guests at the time. Guthrie and Feldman later welcomed Vale and son Charley. Guthrie has also spoken about wanting another child. She told Bush Hager in 2025 that she “would have had a third in a heartbeat.” However, she said she felt she had been “up against the clock.”

Now, Vale is 12, and Charley is 9. Gaga’s own journey into motherhood gave Guthrie’s old story an unexpectedly fitting full-circle moment.
