Oprah Winfrey announced plans to bring AHA, a two-hour immersive live experience, to the Las Vegas Sphere in 2027.
Rather than another talk show, interview series or traditional speaking event, Winfrey took on a different format with AHA, a production designed specifically around the Sphere’s technology, music, visuals and storytelling.
Oprah Winfrey will bring her new AHA live experience to the Las Vegas Sphere in 2027
Winfrey scheduled four AHA performances between April 2 and April 4, 2027.
She said the idea originated during her first visit to the Sphere, when she attended U2’s opening-night performance.
“My first time at Sphere, I was blown away by this high-tech marvel of sound and images,” Winfrey said.
That experience inspired her to consider how she could use the venue differently.
“What if this magnificent space could take us to the edge of the universe and deep within ourselves for an immersive symphony of awe, wonder and joy?” she said.
The Oprah Sphere experience combined several forms of live entertainment instead of centering on a traditional concert performance.
Winfrey planned to guide the audience through the show while several artists joined her onstage. The lineup included seven-time Grammy winner Jacob Collier, author and poet Ocean Vuong, musician Ajeet and gospel singer Wintley Phipps.
The production also brought together creators from music, film and stage.
Max Richter served as musical director and contributed original music. Jason White and Jon Hopkins also worked on the music, while Oscar-winning Moonlight screenwriter Tarell Alvin McCraney contributed writing.
Artist Es Devlin and the Plum Village Monks created original works for the show. Ethan Tobman directed the production, while Baz Halpin served as a producer.
Winfrey connected Oprah AHA to ideas she had discussed throughout her career.
“Creating this experience has felt like the culmination of what I’ve spoken about and worked towards my entire life,” she said.
The project therefore took a familiar part of Winfrey’s public work and placed it inside a new live format designed specifically around the Sphere’s immersive capabilities.
Tickets for AHA Sphere Las Vegas started at $145. Organizers scheduled the general sale for September 25.
