A Twin Peaks video game may finally be happening. A surprise Steam leak has revealed a mysterious project tied to the cult series. However, the game hasn’t been officially confirmed, meaning fans should treat the report with caution.
Steam achievement data recently surfaced for several upcoming and unannounced games. Among them was a supposed Twin Peaks game with an achievement titled “Welcome to Twin Peaks.” Its description says players must “Reach the Double R Diner,” a familiar location from the series. The leak does not identify the developer, publisher, release date, or other details. That leaves open the possibility that the project could still change or never be released.
The report gained more attention after a user on r/twinpeaks said they contacted Sabrina S. Sutherland. She served as a producer on Twin Peaks: The Return and is a longtime David Lynch collaborator. According to the Reddit post, Sutherland allegedly replied, “There is a game that will be coming out eventually.”
That response hasn’t been independently verified. It also doesn’t confirm the game Sutherland mentioned is the same project found in the Steam data.
Why fans are hoping Twin Peaks becomes a video game
Twin Peaks first aired from 1990 to 1991 and became known for its surreal mystery, strange characters, and unsettling small-town setting. Showtime later revived the series with Twin Peaks: The Return, which aired 18 episodes in 2017. David Lynch directed every episode and co-wrote them with co-creator Mark Frost.
The series already received an official VR game in 2019. That experience allowed players to visit recognizable locations, including the Red Room and the Sheriff’s Department.
The latest rumor has therefore caught fans’ attention because the world offers plenty of material for an interactive mystery. Reddit users have suggested ideas ranging from a story-driven adventure to a game like Deadly Premonition.
As of now, the leaked achievement gives a reason for interest, not confirmation. Until an official announcement arrives, the Twin Peaks video game remains unconfirmed.
