Entourage Creator Rips Jeremy Piven & Adrian Grenier Over Controversial Reunion

Entourage creator Doug Ellin lashed out at a new Betr commercial starring Jeremy Piven and Adrian Grenier. Ellin has accused the ad creators of allegedly imitating his work.

Entourage creator Doug Ellin blasts Jeremy Piven and Adrian Grenier’s reunion ad

The ad in question shows Piven, playing himself, listening to YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul’s pitch for the Betr gambling app. He continues through the gathering and bumps into Grenier. Thereafter he goes on to convince Grenier to be a spokesperson for the app. “I got your two superstar faces for your superstar app,” Piven tells Paul at the end of the ad. “We’re in, baby. You’re gonna have to pay us.”

Ellin rejects the ad altogether, saying that he wants to “throw up” after watching it. In a series of posts, the “Entourage” creator slams the showcased reunion, and even accuses the ad creators for imitating his work.

“I have zero positivity in watching things I busted my ass [off] on for years [be] turned into garbage,” he wrote on X. “This is trash and theft. Period.”

Ellin seemed offended by the “God-awful commercial” and claimed to be the kingmaker of Piven and Grenier. Comparing the quality of the two productions, Ellin said, “I know there’s a lot of people out there who like to criticize us and tell us we weren’t great — we were, this wasn’t.”

He added, “It’s just embarrassing. A lot of times, people know, in Hollywood don’t give the writer the credit they deserve. And I’m not talking about me, I’m talking about all the people that worked on the show.”

Ellin also seemed to take the credit for the duo’s career success. He said, “We found these people. We cast these people,”.

Jeremy Piven played agent Ari Gold, while Adrian Grenier starred as actor Vincent Chase on “Entourage”. In the new Betr ad, the pair reunite to help promote Jake Paul’s sports-betting and prediction platform.
