According to recent coverage from People, the actress, who has kept her marriage life with all four of her partners private, recently opened up about her past. Jaclyn Smith revealed that her first marriage to Roger Davis ended after she discovered that he was having an affair with their realtor.
Smith said, “I really thought it was a match made in heaven. We both didn’t drink, we loved architecture, we both were actors, we were both from the South, we liked the same food. We liked everything the same, but boy, did I have a lot to learn.”
Before that, the actress also said, “I’m a rule-follower from the best family in the whole wide world — no one would think I’d have this many marriages. I think it shocks my kids, but they understand it, because they really know me.”
During the interview, Jaclyn Smith also said that her two marriages to Denis Coleman and Roger Davis didn’t “qualify as marriages in my heart of hearts. But I learned from them.”
The former couple, Smith and Davis, married on November 29, 1968, but separated on January 15, 1975. The actress later married Dennis Coleman in 1978 and then Tony Richmond in 1981. Both marriages ended in divorce in 1981 and 1989, respectively.
Currently, she is with Brad Allen, whom she married on October 11, 1997. Jaclyn Smith says she got “a great husband, great marriage, and the most fantastic stepfather [she] could ever dream of.” The actress considers this marriage the one where she “finally got it right.”
