Sharon Osbourne, wife of the late rock star Ozzy Osbourne, has started legal proceedings over the latter’s estate.
She wants to remove longtime accountant Colin Newman as the executor of the late singer’s will.
Sharon Osbourne seeks to remove Colin Newman from Ozzy Osbourne’s $100 million estate
According to The US Sun, Sharon Osbourne has filed a claim in the High Court seeking to remove Newman from his role. The filing was reportedly made under a legal provision that allows executors or estate representatives to be replaced or removed under certain circumstances.
The rocker died in July 2025 at the age of 76, shortly after he performed a farewell concert with Black Sabbath in Birmingham. His $100 million estate was subsequently entrusted to several executors, including Sharon Osbourne, her niece Georgina Maszlin, assistant Melinda Varga, and Newman.
Newman, whom Sharon wants to remove, has been associated with the family for decades. He reportedly handled their finances even before Sharon and Ozzy married in 1982. He later became a prominent financial adviser in the music industry.
Records show that Newman served as a director of Monowise Ltd., Ozzy’s main UK company. He stepped down from the role in April 2026. Sharon had been appointed a director in December 2025 and remains in the role. The business is now listed as being controlled by the Estate of John Michael Osbourne, the singer’s legal name.
The reason for Newman’s removal is not known. Under UK law, an executor can potentially be removed or replaced by the court in certain circumstances. However, the specific basis for Sharon’s claim has not been publicly disclosed. It is also unclear whether Newman intends to contest the claim or step away voluntarily. The Sun reported that legal representatives for both sides declined to comment.
Newman’s connection to the Osbournes stretches back decades. He first met Sharon while working for her father, legendary music manager Don Arden. Since then, he has remained a financial adviser to the Osbournes throughout much of the couple’s career. The Sun also reported that Newman had served as Sharon’s literary agent.
