A new Avengers: Doomsday rumor hints at a huge cameo scene involving legendary Marvel heroes. The same report claims recent reshoots added many more characters to the movie.
An online claim by scooper @bluemintues on X(Twitter) says, “As Avengers Doomsday reshoots have been wrapped. Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Sue Storm and many more heroes have been added. There’s also one scene which is more like POV of legendary heroes cameo which I think audience will find mind-bending.”
Why one rumored POV scene has Avengers: Doomsday fans talking
Well, the idea of a POV cameo is what makes this rumor interesting. Marvel usually builds excitement around a returning character by showing the hero on screen. A POV sequence could take a different route. It could let viewers experience the arrival through the character’s eyes before revealing exactly who they are.
That could make a familiar cameo feel much bigger. However, there is no information yet about which legendary heroes are involved or what the scene actually shows. The claim itself comes from online Marvel scoops, so it should not be treated as confirmed plot information. Marvel has not announced such a sequence.
Even without these rumored additions, Avengers: Doomsday already has an unusually large cast. Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the MCU as Victor von Doom rather than Tony Stark. Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Chris Evans, and Tom Hiddleston are also among the returning Marvel stars. The Fantastic Four are part of the film as well.
Several major X-Men actors are also confirmed. It includes Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler. Marvel’s official cast listing also includes Kelsey Grammer and Rebecca Romijn.
That already gives the movie plenty of established characters to work with. A secret cameo involving additional legacy heroes would only make the mystery around the film bigger.
Joe and Anthony Russo are directing Avengers: Doomsday, with Stephen McFeely credited as the writer. Marvel has officially set the movie for release on December 18, 2026.
