Huge Dead Character Returns in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 – Is He Alive Now?

A beloved character who met a shocking and brutal end in Dexter: Resurrection Season 1 was just spotted filming on set in full costume alongside the show’s lead. Find out how the series plans to bring him back from the dead and what his surprising return could mean for Season 2’s story.

David Zayas confirmed to return in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2

David Zayas will reprise his role as Angel Batista in the second season of Dexter: Resurrection, as confirmed by Deadline. Cameras caught Zayas filming alongside series lead Michael C. Hall in New York City’s Times Square. Despite this, the character still remains dead after his tragic Season 1 demise.

The show has not yet revealed its method for bringing Batista back. Meanwhile, social media videos captured the two characters surrounded by extras, finding one another and warmly embracing. Notably, Zayas wore a tropical shirt, a straw fedora, and his leather gun shoulder holster on location.

Additionally, Zayas posed for photos with showrunner Clyde Phillips and executive producer Marcos Siega. Uma Thurman, who returns as Charley, also filmed at the same location. Earlier, Michael C. Hall teased that Batista remains in “Dexter’s mind and heart” during an interview with Gold Derby.

In Season 2, Dexter finds himself caught between two killers while battling a midlife crisis. Brian Cox will portray Don Framt, a notorious figure known as The New York Ripper. Furthermore, Dan Stevens joins as The Five Borough Killer, and Gabriel Luna plays Ray Ballard.

Desmond Harrington has earned a promotion to series regular for the second season. Returning cast members include Jack Alcott, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, and James Remar. Krysten Ritter is also coming back, though her capacity remains unknown. Newcomers Bokeem Woodbine and Nona Parker Johnson will also join the ensemble.
