Two Controversial Madelaine Petsch Horror Movies Get 4K Release With New Footage

Madelaine Petsch’s horror trilogy is getting a new home release. The final two installments will soon arrive in 4K and Digital, bringing the story of Maya’s fight for survival to a new format. Renny Harlin directed both movies, which star Petsch alongside Gabriel Basso and Ema Horvath.

The Strangers: Chapter 2 and The Strangers: Chapter 3 will be released in 4K and Digital on October 13, 2026. The second film follows Maya after she survives the killers’ first attack, only for them to discover that she is still alive and return to finish what they started. The 98-minute title is rated R for bloody violence and language.

The Strangers: Chapter 3 concludes Maya’s story with a final confrontation against the killers. According to producer Courtney Solomon, the R-rated movie focuses less on the cat-and-mouse dynamic and more on how Maya’s experience has affected her psychologically. Petsch also described the character as drastically changed from the woman who first arrived in Venus, Oregon. The final chapter explores the consequences of her transformation.

The sequels also went through additional photography. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, it was revealed that the team returned for 8 days of additional work on Chapter 2 and 15 days on Chapter 3. The changes incorporated audience feedback and helped enhance the later chapters of the story. This makes the new home release interesting for fans of the trilogy.

What bonus features are included on The Strangers: Chapter 2 and 3 4K release?

The Strangers: Chapter 2 includes a more extensive collection of special features. The 4K release includes Heart of a Killer: Making The Strangers – Chapter 2, a 19-minute behind-the-scenes feature, and a 42-minute Q&A with the cast and crew. The theatrical trailer is also included.

Meanwhile, The Strangers: Chapter 3 has only its theatrical trailer listed as a special feature. Both releases include English Dolby Atmos and English descriptive audio, along with Spanish and French audio options and subtitles.

Lionsgate’s 4K and Digital releases of Strangers: Chapter 2 and 3 arrive on October 13, 2026.
