Rowling has also donated £70,000 toward the legal costs of For Women Scotland. The campaign group challenged Scottish legislation over whether transgender women should be included within the legal definition of a woman.
Her public views have also become linked to criticism of people who choose to work on Harry Potter projects. According to Metro, Nicholas Hoult was originally cast as Professor Lockhart in the TV series. Following his exit, Game of Thrones star Kit Harington will reportedly take over the role.
After Hoult’s departure, several fans criticized his explanation. One person said, “Sucks to see so many people jumping at this pitiful part in an evil show, Hoult, you are not forgiven!”
Another wrote, “Nicholas Hoult chalking it up to ‘scheduling conflicts’ is so lame and cowardly. Making a statement and apologising is the only way to come across as even remotely genuine.”
