A source revealed to Star magazine that Jost is offering his expertise to the Chiefs tight end on how to possibly navigate an acting career. The duo shares a warm friendship, and the 44-year-old even appeared on Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, as well.
Colin Jost’s role in Travis Kelce’s Hollywood ambitions revealed
As per Star magazine, Travis Kelce is banking on Colin Jost’s support for a potential Hollywood career post-retirement. According to a source, the duo struck a friendship when the Chiefs tight end hosted SNL in 2023. As per the insider, the comedy host personally guided Kelce through the process. It reportedly awakened Kelce’s dormant desire to venture into acting.
The source said: “After helping to make hundreds of episodes of SNL, Colin has met and worked directly with just about every A-lister in Hollywood. But he hasn’t bonded with any of them the way he has with Travis.”
The insider stated: “It’s already a beautiful friendship built on mutual respect. But this really is just the beginning for these two guys – and their wives.”
The source further explained that Jost could ride on Kelce’s popularity as a massive NFL star and collaborate on a movie. “But Travis’ rising star and Hollywood’s ongoing fascination with Taylor herself is something Colin can hitch himself to. They both want to collaborate beyond just the sketch comedy of SNL,” the source chimed in
The insider elucidated that Jost “eventually wants to write and produce movies as well as act in them.” The Chiefs tight end harbors similar ambitions post-retirement.
Previously, Jost guested on New Heights, where he warmly chatted with the Kelce brothers. At one point, Travis asked him: “How nice is it to be the less famous person in your relationship?” To this, the SNL host replied that it was a “huge relief.”
