Olivia Rodrigo’s Secret Messages With College Student Are Finally Out

Olivia Rodrigo quietly helped a college student finish her degree long before the public knew anything about it. Jamie Causey has now revealed the private messages that led to the unexpected financial support. The exchange stayed secret for more than a year. However, Causey is finally sharing how Rodrigo stepped in when college costs became difficult to manage.

Olivia Rodrigo contacted Jamie Causey before sending her $5,000 toward college

Causey shared the story in an Aug. 18 TikTok, along with screenshots of the secret messages between her and Rodrigo. According to Page Six, Rodrigo first reached out after seeing Causey discuss her struggle to cover her final semester at the University of Alabama.

Rodrigo told Causey that she loved her videos and viewed her as a source of positivity. Then, after seeing the tuition post, she asked whether Causey would accept some help and requested her Venmo information.

Causey initially struggled to believe the message was real. Still, she agreed to accept assistance after explaining that she had not publicly asked others to pay her expenses.

Later, an email from Rodrigo’s team confirmed a $5,000 contribution toward Causey’s education. Causey said the money helped cover her remaining college tuition as she worked toward graduation.

The gesture meant even more because Causey was a first-generation college student. She eventually graduated from the University of Alabama with a public relations degree and has since returned to the school as an academic adviser.

Meanwhile, Causey kept Rodrigo’s involvement private because she wanted to protect what the gesture meant to her. She also thanked Paris Hilton, West Wilson, Allison Kuch and Ophelia Nichols for offering support during her journey.

Rodrigo has continued using her platform for causes she supports. Earlier this month, she appeared in a Planned Parenthood campaign focused on reproductive health care.

For Jamie Causey, however, Rodrigo’s quiet assistance became personal. More than a year later, the student decided the story was finally worth sharing.
