Netflix has released the first official trailer for its upcoming raucous collegiate dance comedy, Best of the Best. The new footage puts The Boys star and her best friend in the movie in a fierce college dance rivalry that turns brutal.
The upcoming Netflix comedy follows The Boys star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who plays Maya, and Anjali (Priyanka Kedia), two childhood best friends who join UCLA’s competitive Bollywood-fusion dance team. However, their decision quickly takes a different turn from what they expected. The close-knit duo soon realizes the road to winning the U.S. Championship requires blood, sweat, tears, and even some unexpected sacrifices.

What happens in the Best of the Best trailer?
The trailer opens with Maya and her best friend Anjali arriving at the college and heading to their first class.
Maya reveals that she has joined the school’s dance team. She encourages Anjali to take part in the competition, but their conversation is interrupted by their professor, played by Hasan Minhaj. Just two minutes into their orientation class, the pair’s side conversation catches his attention. Anjali tries to apologize, awkwardly addressing him as “Sir,” then “Professor,” and finally “Man.”
Then the duo dives into the rehearsals, where they see other teams training intensively for the competition with a proper plan. Nirbhay (Nihar Duvvuri) introduces the newly joined duo to the Bollywood dance team, giving them the first look at the demanding world they have entered.
The footage unveils a fast-paced montage of their competition journey, showcasing their live performances, growing rivalries, and personal relationships. The trailer ends with the title card.
Directed by Lena Khan (Flora & Ulysses), the film features an ensemble cast of Chaneil Kular, Ankur Rathee, Shreya Navile, Nico Greetham, Lilly Singh, Janina Gavankar, and Kavi Ramachandran.
