The couple named their daughter Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank.
“2 weeks ago today we welcomed our girl to the world,” Eugenie wrote, describing the days since her daughter’s birth as a particularly special and love-filled period. According to Eugenie, the baby’s name honors three people whom she and Jack “love and admire past and present.” She also confirmed that the name includes a tribute to her great-grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The name Elizabeth immediately stood out because it honors Queen Elizabeth II, who reigned for 70 years before she died in 2022. Younger members of the Royal Family also carry the name. Eugenie’s sister, Princess Beatrice, has Elizabeth as a middle name, while their cousins Zara Tindall and Lady Louise also share it.
