Roadside Attractions and Saban Films have released the bone-chilling trailer for Crawlers. The upcoming horror-thriller film comes from Ángel Gómez Hernández, who previously helmed The Boogeyman and episodes of Tecnofobia. Crawlers is the first project from Badlands, the new collaboration between John Wick producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, along with Scott Strauss.
The movie follows a terrifying spider infestation that traps an entire apartment building under a police-mandated quarantine. The synopsis reads: “Trapped inside by a police-mandated quarantine, building manager Serena (Matilda Lutz) and her residents battle to survive as the creatures multiply by the second. Armed with her intimate knowledge of the complex, Serena may be the only one who can keep them alive—if she can confront her deepest fear.”

Crawlers joins a growing wave of creature-focused horror movies
Crawlers is an upcoming film that shifts the focus to creepy-crawlies and other creatures. Earlier this year, Kathryn Newton’s The Devil’s Mouth showed a group of teenagers facing killer sharks. With Crawlers’ impending release in October, the month is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling times for horror fans in recent years. This year’s Halloween will also see releases like Clayface, Other Mommy, and Whalefall.

It’s a true, unapologetic genre film that delivers the kind of squirm-in-your-seat, racing-heart moments that horror fans live for,” said Saban co-presidents Shanan Becker and Jonathan Saba. “It masterfully blends edge-of-your-seat thrills with the high-octane fun we’ve come to expect from the producers of John Wick.”
Hernández has directed the film from a screenplay by Jayson Rothwell. It is produced by Scott Strauss, Peter Welter, Jayson Rothwell, Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Josh Weinstock, and Alexandra Milchan. The film was previously called Arachnid.
Crawlers releases in theaters on October 16, 2026.
