An Avengers: Secret Wars rumor might have cracked the Spider-Man: Brand New Day post-credit scene. Following the conclusion of Brand New Day, fans had a lot of questions about what the scene exactly meant.
In a recent question-and-answer session with Alex Perez, the topic of Brand New Day’s post-credits scene came up. Perez was asked whether the movie would follow the comic-book storyline in which a Life Raft or resistance team would be introduced to tackle the threat of Doctor Doom. In response, Perez stated, “There is a resistance team but no word on the liferafts.”
For context, Life Rafts were built by the Illuminati and the Cabal as a last-ditch effort to survive the final incursion. As the multiverse collapsed, the Future Foundation and the Maker each created a Life Raft, one for Earth-616 and the other for Earth-1610, respectively. Incidentally, both Life Rafts ultimately played a role in the events of Battleworld. Thus, the Spidey Tracker picking up a Spider-Man sighting in space might indicate that Peter Parker could be pulled into Battleworld alongside a resistance team.
Who is confirmed to be appearing in Avengers: Secret Wars?
Marvel is currently focused on its December release, Avengers: Doomsday. However, while the full cast of Secret Wars has not yet been officially announced, several actors are currently listed in connection with the 2027 movie. First and foremost, the big bad of this phase, Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, is officially confirmed to appear. Alongside, the movie might also feature Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, and Ryan Omoto, per IMDB.
Several other actors are rumored to reprise their superhero roles in the movie. These include Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Benedict Wong’s Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, and Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, and many more.
Avengers: Secret Wars is slated for a December 17, 2027 release.
