AOC Split From Fiancé Riley Roberts Before Freezing Her Eggs — Report

A new report has put fresh attention on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s relationship with Riley Roberts, just as the congresswoman begins an egg-freezing process. The couple has kept their private life largely out of the spotlight. However, recent clues have fueled speculation that their long engagement may have quietly ended.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and longtime fiancé Riley Roberts reportedly called off their engagement

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, 36, and Riley Roberts got engaged in April 2022 after years together. However, the New York Post noted that she has recently appeared without her engagement ring, including during a May outing when the pair were seen together at a Manhattan burger restaurant.

Her comments about fertility added another twist. When asked whether her fiancé supported her decision to freeze her eggs, Ocasio-Cortez did not directly identify Roberts. Instead, she told reporters, “All of my loved ones have been very supportive.” She has described the procedure as a way to feel “more in control of my life.”

The report also points to Roberts’ shrinking public footprint. His name has not appeared in Ocasio-Cortez’s recent House financial disclosures, while her social media has largely stopped featuring him. Neither Ocasio-Cortez nor Roberts responded to multiple requests for comment, leaving the alleged breakup unconfirmed.

Their relationship dates back much further than their engagement. The two first dated during college, separated for a period, and later reunited around 2015, as reported by the Daily Mail. Roberts remained beside Ocasio-Cortez during her rapid political rise, including her stunning 2018 victory over longtime Democratic Rep. Joseph Crowley.

Ocasio-Cortez once spoke warmly about Roberts in a 2018 GQ profile, calling him “so supportive and willing and deeply engaging.” She also discussed the pressures that success could create inside a relationship, saying, “The moment you start being yourself, they kind of freak out.”

The couple announced their engagement in 2022 but deliberately avoided rushing toward a wedding. Ocasio-Cortez said they wanted “some space to savor this time” before beginning wedding preparations.
