Kurupt says Eminem and Dr. Dre played key roles in helping him seek addiction treatment
Recently, rapper Kurupt appeared for an interview on SiriusXM’s Sway’s in the Morning, where he revealed that he had to enter rehab due to alcohol addiction.
He also shared that his addiction led him to experience multiple seizures and a three-week coma. During the conversation, Kurupt highlighted the kindness shown by Dr. Dre and Eminem as well. As covered by the source, People
Rapper said, “It was Dr. Dre that called and was just giving his support and just let me know that, you know, we all go through these things. He was just giving me that game.”
“And it was Em who came to the table like, ‘I’m gonna put Kurupt with my folks, and I’m going to put some money into getting him into like, a rehab situation to where he can sit down and enjoy [himself] and be out the way. Nobody will know he’s there,” record producer added.
Later he explained, “You know, these things cost bread, so Em put the cheese up for it and said, ‘Tell Kurupt I love him. Dr. Dre relayed the message, and then he put me with Em’s folks.”
Kurupt and Eminem’s connection goes back much further. The Philadelphia-born rapper first received a shoutout from the Rap God through the lyrics of Eminem’s song Till I Collapse.
For your information, Eminem has also been to rehab twice. In the past, he openly revealed that he experienced a near-fatal overdose around 2007 due to his struggles with alcohol addiction.
