Jayden James Federline is setting the record straight about one of the internet’s strangest rumors involving his famous mom, Britney Spears. During a recent livestream, the 19-year-old dismissed the long-running conspiracy theory that the pop icon had been cloned and urged people to stop believing everything they see online.
His comments marked one of the rare occasions Jayden has publicly addressed speculation surrounding Spears. They also came months after the mother and son reportedly repaired their relationship following several difficult years.
Jayden James Federline responds after being asked whether Britney was cloned
According to Us Weekly, Jayden laughed off the viral TikTok theory after seeing a clip questioning whether Spears was still alive. “I hop on TikTok and I see this one video that has 1.2 million likes, and the caption is like, ‘The biggest theory ever: Is Britney Spears still alive?’” he said during a July 17 livestream. “Like, bro, you can go to her page and see her right now.”
Jayden didn’t stop there. He argued that the conspiracy highlighted how easily misinformation spreads on social media, calling the speculation “ridiculous.”
“It makes me know that a lot of the stuff on media is exaggerated and fake,” he said. “People know how gullible people are, and they use that to their advantage. Anyone that sees it on media, they just see it and if it has a lot of likes, they [believe] it. They don’t even research it, they’re just, ‘Wow, yeah, it’s crazy. I believe it.’”
The cloning theory has circulated online for several years and even gained attention in 2024 when “The Hills” alum Kristin Cavallari discussed it on her Let’s Be Honest podcast. At the time, she claimed, “That’s not Britney Spears [on social media]. I’m sorry, it’s not Britney Spears. Go look at photos! That’s not Britney Spears,” while also suggesting Kanye West had been cloned.
Jayden’s appearance also reflected how much his relationship with Spears had changed. He and his older brother Sean Preston had previously been estranged from their mother, but the family had reportedly reunited this year.
According to Us Weekly, Spears voluntarily entered a treatment facility after conversations with her sons following her March DUI arrest. One insider claimed the brothers “expressed concern about her recent behavior and urged her to seek professional help,” while another source said Spears wanted to show her children she was taking the situation “seriously.”
Earlier this month, Jayden also told Vogue that Spears supported him and Sean during their Paris Fashion Week debut, revealing she “sent us flowers to our hotel as a good luck thing, and called and texted us so many times.”
