King Charles and Prince Harry are reportedly meeting in July. The Duke of Sussex is expected to arrive with his wife, Meghan Markle, and kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Reports also shared that the King is looking forward to spending time with his grandchildren. Now, as per a royal expert, there can be a hurdle in the reunion.
Expert predicts King Charles and Prince Harry’s summer meeting could be ‘crucial’
According to ex-royal butler Grant Harrold, King Charles and Prince Harry’s reunion might be affected due to a diary clash. “I think the only thing that will stop it happening is if there is a diary clash,” he told AceOdds exclusively for the Daily Express. Harrold continued, “The King goes up to Scotland for the summer, but I’m sure he will do everything he can to make it work. This will be extremely important to the King and he will make it a priority.”
He also said he will be surprised if the Sussexes don’t meet the King and Queen during the trip. Harrold further said, “There have been different reports on how much communication there has been between them recently.” However, he feels that “it’s something both the King and Harry will want to make work.” Harrold added, “This could be a big step on their journey to reconnect, so it will be a crucial meeting.”
Royal experts also told Page Six that the King and Harry’s reunion might deepen the latter’s rift with Prince William. “I think it is almost impossible to draw any conclusions about a reconciliation between Harry and William at this stage,” Amanda Matta said. She commented that the brothers have the “most strained” relationship out of all the family dynamics. Royal reporter Emily Nash also believed that the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex won’t reunite on the trip. “I certainly wouldn’t expect anything to happen on this visit. I mean, you never know,” she stated. Nash shared that due to the “fractious nature of the relationship”, she doesn’t see the brothers rushing to spend time together just because Harry’s back in the UK.
