Katie Price’s husband, Lee Andrews, slammed Susanna Reid after she questioned his claims that he had been held at “gunpoint” during an appearance on Good Morning Britain. The 43-year-old Dubai-based businessman called for her removal from the show over the comments she made about him during the live broadcast.
Susanna Reid is facing heavy backlash from Lee Andrews after a Good Morning Britain segment
On the June 17 edition of Good Morning Britain, Reid mocked Andrews’ claims and said, “I think my eyes just rolled out of my head.”
Reid’s sarcastic remark came after entertainment reporter Richard Arnold shared an update on Lee’s whereabouts and recent return to social media, reports the Daily Mail. Andrews, who went missing near the Hatta border on May 12 and was arrested on May 23, posted a video on his Instagram story on June 16. He said, as quoted by Yahoo News, “I’ve been missing now for several weeks. I can tell you I’m now safe and healthy and with my wife.”
He then claimed, “I was taken close to the Hatta-Oman border by men at gunpoint, and then I was captured by men with assault rifles.” Adding, “They did slap me around a little bit, little s***s, and I was hand-tied, shackled, and also had a hood over my head. From there, I was taken to a black site, and I had no use of my phone, and from what I know, it was an extended arm of the National Guard, and that’s all I can reveal at the moment.”
Following Reid’s remark, Andrews has now fired back at her on June 18. Taking to his Instagram story, he wrote, as quoted by Mirror, “So what is Susanna Reid rolling her eyes at? I’m not going to comment on that because obviously, I’ll get onto the sofa with Katie at some point and we’ll thrash it out. Then she can be as forthcoming as she likes, but to judge me without any evidence and calling me a conman, that’s ridiculous. She should lose her job for that.”
He went on to describe, “The National Guard who took me in the beginning have guns, and they don’t register you as being arrested. They just take you and hold you, and that is what happened. Anywhere in the world you go to an airport, they have guns, they’re patrolling the border, and they took me, not in the best way, either. It was not the best experience, and from there, they held me in state security. I was transferred.”
The Sun has confirmed Lee was jailed over unpaid debts, and has 14 days to repay them, reports the Metro. As previously reported, there are allegations that Andrews has scammed several individuals. Crystal Janke is among several former partners who have spoken out against Andrews. She alleged she invested about $164,000 in Aura Sustainable Vehicles, expecting a $1.26 million return, but never received it.
