Fans React After ‘Not Political’ Nate Bargatze Shows Up in Trump Family Photos

Bettina Anderson Trump, recently married to Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., posted a selfie with family-friendly comedian Nate Bargatze at the mega UFC event held at the White House on the president’s 80th birthday.

Bargatze’s presence at an event surrounded by Trump supporters led fans to question whether the appearance carried any political message.

Here’s why comedian Nate Bargatze’s appearance at the White House UFC event sparked debate

While Bargatze has not posted any photos of himself with the first family, others have freely shared photos with him. The list includes high-profile MAGA figures like Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the former White House press secretary under Trump, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and podcaster Joe Rogan.

On the other hand, the comedian tries hard to remain politically neutral, but fans and followers are not having any of it.

One Instagram user wrote, “After seeing you having a ball Sunday night at the BS event that we taxpayers paid for, I’m done.” Another added, “Broke my heart to see you were at that event last night. I thought you had standards.”

Many have expressed a sense of betrayal by the comedian’s appearance at the Trump-heavy event. One user said, “My “unfollow” will not make a difference, but I have a conscience,” while another said, “Hope the birthday circus fight club was worth it!”

A point of reference is Bragatze’s comments to Esquire when asked about his political opinions. The comedian said, “If I want to give you my opinion on who I voted for, who’s that for? It’s for me, really, because I want you to know I’m smart.”

According to the Daily Beast, a source close to Nate Bargatze said that the comedian attended Donald Trump’s birthday cage match because UFC is his “favorite sport.” The source clarified that Bargatze’s appearance and photo with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cheryl Hines were “not political,” saying his attendance was based on his interest in UFC rather than any political support.

Moreover, the backlash had been discussed beforehand, and the comedian was aware his appearance could spark criticism. He had reportedly addressed the situation with his team before moving forward.
