Brad Pitt’s Daughter Zahara Wants to Drop His Surname — Report

Per a new report, Brad Pitt’s daughter, Zahara, is looking to drop the actor’s surname. She is the second child of the former Hollywood couple seeking to remove their surname in recent years.

Brad Pitt’s daughter Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt reportedly seeks to remove Pitt from her name

Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, the daughter of actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, has reportedly requested a legal name change to remove “Pitt” from her surname, per USA Today.

Court records filed in Los Angeles show that she wants her name to be changed from Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Marley Jolie. This move follows a similar decision made by her younger sister, Shiloh Jolie, who also dropped “Pitt” from her last name in June 2024.

A source close to the Fight Club actor claimed that Pitt blames his ex-wife for distancing their children from him. Although Zahara recently filed the application, she appears to have stopped using “Pitt” some time ago. It was first noticed at the 21-year-old’s graduation last month, where the announcer addressed her as Zahara Marley Jolie.

Pitt and Jolie married in 2014 and separated two years later. However, they had already built their family long before tying the knot. The former couple shared six children: Maddox Chivan Jolie (24), Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt (22), Zahara Marley Jolie (21), Shiloh Nouvel (20), and twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline (17). The couple built their family through a combination of three adoptions and three biological births over six years, between 2002 and 2008.

The Maleficent actress adopted Maddox in 2002 and Zahara in 2005 as a single mother. Pitt later joined the family and formally adopted Jolie’s two kids. Subsequently, the couple welcomed their first biological daughter, Shiloh, in 2006 and later adopted Pax in 2007. A year later, the couple welcomed twins, Knox and Vivienne.

The Mr. & Mrs. Smith stars exchanged vows in 2014, but filed for divorce in 2016. In legal documents submitted in 2022, Jolie accused Pitt of assaulting her and two children during a private flight. After eight years of legal battle, the couple finalized their divorce in 2024.
