According to an insider, Meghan Markle wants Prince Harry to contribute more financially. They claim that there have been tensions as the couple faces a financial crunch in their California lifestyle. Moreover, Markle has also become increasingly frustrated being the only breadwinner, says a source. The duo stepped down from their royal roles in 2020, as they disliked intense media scrutiny and were stopped from using the “SussexRoyal” brand. Despite the separation, they kept their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles.
Meghan Markle wants Prince Harry to contribute financially, insider suggests
One insider shared an update with Rob Shuter’s Naughty but Nice on the financial situation with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. It suggests that Markle is tired of being the only one focused on making the money flow. She reportedly wants her husband to lend her a hand financially.
The source said, “Meghan finally told Harry he needs to step up financially. She’s driving the business deals, managing the brand, and thinking about the future. She’s tired of feeling like the only one focused on keeping the money flowing.”
The source further added that while Markle remains focused on more commercial opportunities, Harry continues to lead his life like a royal and gets more involved in charitable work. “Harry still approaches life like a royal. He wants purpose-driven work, while Meghan is looking at the numbers and asking how everything gets paid for,” they said.
Last month, a source talked to Page Six about the couple’s current financial condition. They said that “money is tight,” and that Markle is basically the “breadwinner.” They further claimed that to live a fancy life in Montecito, Calif., the couple at least needs $6 million a year for expenses.
Furthermore, it’s also known that since separating from the royal family, they are required to pay for private security for themselves and their kids. It amounts to somewhere around $3 million. Plus, they also make mortgage payments for their expensive mansion.
