Donald Trump Pushes Arab Nations to Join Abraham Accords After Iran Conflict — Report

President Donald Trump has reportedly urged Arab and Muslim nations to join the Abraham Accords. The request came during a conference call focused on ending the Iran war. Two U.S. officials with knowledge of the Saturday call claimed Trump told leaders that once a deal to end the Iran conflict is achieved, he expects those without peace agreements with Israel to normalize relations. The call included leaders from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain.

The primary purpose of the call was to discuss an emerging deal to end the Iran war. Leaders voiced unified backing for the diplomatic effort. UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed joined others in supporting the agreement. A U.S. official reportedly summarized the response, “They all said we are with you on this deal. And if it doesn’t work we will be with you too.”

Donald Trump then reportedly changed the conversation toward Israeli normalization. He informed the leaders that after the Iran war ends, he expects all nations still outside the Abraham Accords to establish formal relations with Israel. He added that envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff would follow up in the coming weeks.

The request surprised several participants. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Pakistan do not maintain diplomatic relations with Israel. One official claimed “there was silence on the line,” prompting Trump to joke and ask if they were still present. The president also said he would call Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu next and expressed hope that Israel’s leader would soon participate in such calls directly (via Axios).

Trump then addressed the matter publicly on Sunday through Truth Social. “I would like to thank, thus far, all of the countries of the Middle East for their support and cooperation, which will be further enhanced and strengthened by their joining the Nations of the historic Abraham Accords,” he wrote. He also raised the possibility of Iran eventually joining the accords, though Tehran has refused to recognize Israel for decades.
