Avengers: Doomsday Report Reveals How X-Men Die & Who Survives

Avengers: Doomsday rumor reveals X-Men’s backstory

New reports surrounding Avengers: Doomsday suggest a darker and more complex history for the X-Men. According to claims shared online, the mutant team is said to have endured multiple incursions.

A post by social media user James Mack on X stated, “apparently, in Avengers Doomsday, all the X-Men died dealing with incursions, leaving only Mystique, Nightcrawler, Cyclops, Wolverine, Deadpool, Professor X, Magneto, Beast, Gambit and one more character.” When a user asked, “That’s why we only have a limited roster of X-Men?” Mack replied, “Yes.”

Earlier this year, industry scooper MyTimeToShineHello also shared details pointing to a more complex and challenging backstory for the team. The X-Men are said to have faced repeated incursions, leaving them worn down and severely tested. The scooper wrote, “The X-Men in Avengers Doomsday have survived countless Incursions, each one nearly wiping out their universe. They’re exhausted, broken, and have sacrificed everything.”

In order to survive, the group adopts a drastic strategy. MTTSH added, “Every Incursion forces them to send their members to another Earth to battle its defenders and erase that universe from existence before it destroys theirs.” However, these claims remain unverified at this stage, as Marvel Studios has not issued any official confirmation.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to release on December 18, 2026, with Anthony Russo and Joe Russo directing. Cast members include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, among many others. The story will continue in Avengers: Secret Wars, set for December 17, 2027.
