Season 2 of Peacock TV Show With 96% on RT Gets Uncertain Update

Haley Lu Richardson weighed in on the possibility of Season 2 of an American spy thriller television series while discussing her recent work. When the conversation turned to the Peacock drama, she indicated that she had not received any information about whether it would continue.

Haley Lu Richardson has ‘no idea’ about Ponies Season 2

Haley Lu Richardson said she does not know whether Ponies will return for a second season.

Speaking during an interview with ScreenRant about another project, the actor addressed questions about the Peacock series and its future. She stated that she has “absolutely no idea” about renewal prospects and added that “no one tells me anything”.

Susanna Fogel and David Iserson co-created Ponies, which stars Haley Lu Richardson alongside Emilia Clarke. The series follows two widows of CIA agents who become operatives themselves after their husbands die during a mission. Set in 1970s Moscow, the show centers on undercover work, an internal mole investigation, and questions surrounding deaths.

Richardson discussed audience response to the first season and her connection to her character. She said, “I love the response and that people are loving it and relating to Bea and Twila and their friendship.” She added, “I’ve never loved a character more than I love Twila. She’s been very therapeutic for me to play.”

Peacock premiered Ponies on January 15, 2026. Critics gave the series a 96 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and many compared its blend of comedy and espionage to Apple TV’s Slow Horses. Since the premiere, the show has remained in Peacock’s Top 10 television rankings.

The finale left multiple threads unresolved. The story identified Chris and Cheryl as Soviet moles inside the CIA, but it did not clarify their motives or explain how Chris survived. KGB agents held Bea and Twila at gunpoint in the closing moments.

Fogel and Iserson previously confirmed that they pitched Ponies as an ongoing series. They stated that they had plans for a second season and ideas beyond the Russian setting. They also acknowledged uncertainty about renewal despite presenting a multi-season vision.
