Recently publicized FBI documents seem to suggest that Donald Trump once tried to expose Jeffrey Epstein and the latter’s close associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, to the police via a phone call 20 years ago. In the brief conversation with the then-Palm Beach Police Chief, the two-time US President not only warned the official about the threat that Epstein posed but also asked them to keep a close eye on his “evil” partner.
Donald Trump bashed Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell on call
According to an FBI document released recently by the US Department of Justice, the POTUS had placed a call to the Palm Beach Police Department in 2006 to talk about the wrongdoings of the convicted financier and his associate.
The document, referred to as a 302, revealed that Donald Trump initially contacted the Palm Beach Police Chief of that time, Michael Reiter, as revealed by the retired cop himself. While he shared the interaction with the FBI in 2019, his account only came to light following the release of the 302 in question.
Technically, Reiter’s name has been redacted from the document. However, the timeline of the events confirms that it was none other than Michael Reiter who had dealt with the case (via Miami Herald).
The 302 claims that Trump called Reiter “to tell him ‘thank goodness you’ [are] stopping [Epstein], everyone has known he’s been doing this.” The businessman-turned-politician even admitted to ousting Jeffrey Epstein from his Palm Beach club, Mar-a-Lago. “Trump told him [Reiter] people in New York knew Epstein was disgusting,” the document read.
Moreover, Donald Trump even tried to shift the limelight to Ghislaine Maxwell in the call, with the released 302 noting, “Trump said Maxwell was Epstein’s operative, ‘she is evil and to focus on her.'”
The summary further read, “Trump told [Reiter] that he was around Epstein once when teenagers were present, and Trump got the hell out of there. Trump was one of the very first people to call when people found out that they were investigating Epstein.”
Meanwhile, Donald Trump has also openly denied any involvement in Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.
