Sigourney Weaver Was ‘Enamored’ With Costar, Claims Dust Bunny Director

The writer-director of Dust Bunny has revealed that Sigourney Weaver and her co-star developed a crush on one another on the set of the movie. Weaver and the film’s lead, Mads Mikkelsen, shared their similar feelings for each other with Bryan Fuller, who helmed the film. Fuller also admitted to telling them about the same much later.

Bryan Fuller says Sigourney Weaver was ‘starstruck’ with Mads Mikkelsen on set

Bryan Fuller appeared on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast, where he shared a lighthearted behind-the-scenes anecdote involving his movie’s star actors.

“Sigourney was very starstruck with Mads,” Fuller revealed. “She was so enamored with Mads. Every time we would do a rehearsal, and Mads got up to go to wardrobe, she would fan herself very ladylike and say, ‘I’m very enamored with our leading man.’ And it was so cute.”

When asked, the Star Trek: Discovery co-creator said that she said it only when Mikkelsen was not around. “Mads would leave, and then she would say, ‘I am very enamored with our leading man,’ and fan herself,” he clarified.

Interestingly, Mikkelsen expressed similar feelings in Weaver’s absence. “And then, if she left, Mads would express similar enthusiasm and appreciation of Sigourney, but less ladylike,” he explained. The 56-year-old director admitted that he didn’t tell either of them until much later. The Hannibal star, who was on the video call, quipped, “He wanted her for himself.”

Fuller then recalled the moment when he revealed it to the Ghostbusters actress. “When I told her, she was like, ‘Well, you just made my day.’ And [she] was on helium heels the rest of the day,” he shared.

Mads Mikkelsen and Sigourney Weaver starred in 2025’s fantasy action film Dust Bunny. Fuller served as both the writer and the director on the project. The film first premiered in 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, and later debuted in cinemas on December 12, 2025.

The story follows an eight-year-old Aurora, who believes that monsters from under her bed killed her parents. She then hires her neighbor, Resident 5B (Mikkelsen), a hitman, to kill the monsters that consumed her parents.
