Ray J Shares Concerning Health Update: ‘Just Almost Died’

Ray J addressed concerns about his health after a recent medical emergency alarmed fans. The singer and television personality described the seriousness of the situation, saying he “just almost died” after doctors hospitalized him earlier this month.

Ray J talks about his health condition

Doctors hospitalized Ray J in early January 2026 after he experienced heart pains and a severe case of pneumonia. According to a video posted on Instagram, he revealed, “My heart’s only beating like 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, I’m gonna be alright.” He added in the caption, “Just almost died!! I’m alive because of your prayers and support!!” The incident occurred in Las Vegas, where Ray J was taken to the emergency room and underwent X-rays and an echocardiogram.

Ray J previously experienced a serious health scare in 2021 when doctors hospitalized him for pneumonia, and he reportedly feared for his life. After his most recent hospitalization, he returned home and continues to recover while maintaining a positive mindset. Fans expressed concern in the comments, with one writing, “Take care of yourself man. 25% is extremely dangerous so I hope you are following up with your doctors.”

Ray J also used the Instagram post to discuss his upcoming projects. He confirmed the launch of his streaming platform, writing, “Tronix is in full effect,” and announced more “explosive” content. The Tronix platform operates as an app-based subscription service that features original series, reality TV, and opportunities for independent artists.

A few weeks before the health scare, Ray J filmed the series Celebrity Hitchhiker, where he planned to travel from Tampa, Florida, to Los Angeles. It remains unclear whether that trip contributed to his illness or how he arrived in Las Vegas.

Shortly before the hospitalization, authorities arrested Ray J for allegedly pulling a gun on his estranged wife, Princess Love. The couple, who filed for divorce in 2020, have maintained an on-and-off relationship and share two children, Melody, 7, and Epik, 6.
