Gwyneth Paltrow and Timothee Chalamet‘s sex scenes in “Marty Supreme” apparently hit hardest for one person offscreen. Paltrow’s son, Moses Martin, sat through the film and did not love it. She later joked about his reaction.
The story surfaced during her press run for “Marty Supreme,” now in theaters. The film follows Chalamet as Marty Mauser, a salesman chasing ping-pong greatness in 1950s New York. On January 9, she talked about her son’s plight during a Q&A in Santa Monica.
Gwyneth Paltrow says her son ‘wanted to die’ after watching her Timothee Chalamet sex scenes
As per a People report dated January 10, 2026, Paltrow raised the subject at San Vicente Bungalows during a Q&A. She told Demi Moore the 19-year-old struggled with the intimate scenes. Paltrow said, “Oh my God! My poor son.” Then she added, “Can you imagine when he came to the premiere in L.A.? He wanted to die.” However, the report framed it as one awkward beat inside a bigger night.
Additionally, the pairing of Gwyneth Paltrow and Timothée Chalamet for “Marty Supreme” has been on the radar since 2024. Photos from October 2024 captured the costars filming makeout moments in Central Park. Later, Paltrow addressed the film’s sex scenes more directly. She told Vanity Fair, “I mean, we have a lot of sex in this movie.” She doubled down, “There’s a lot, a lot.”
Meanwhile, the Goop founder has spoken about boundaries before. In a separate Vanity Fair interview, she recalled declining a sex scene with Ethan Hawke in “Great Expectations.” Paltrow said, “Oh, my God, my father’s going to have a heart attack.” She later added she was “really self-conscious about” her “dad and grandfather seeing this kind of stuff.”
