Pokemon Go Accounts Are Being Sold on eBay for £2,000

If you’ve got an impressive Pokemon Go account then you may be sitting on a good sum of money, as eBay users are selling high level accounts featuring rare Pokemon for £2,000 on the auction site.

The hook of Pokemon Go is actively venturing outside your home and capturing Pokemon for yourself, but as you’d imagine there’s a market for people who can’t be bothered with all that effort, and who instead want to fork out ridiculous amounts of money to be given a bunch of the game’s best Pokemon. On eBay UK, an account with a Charizard, Gyarados, Vaporeon, Golduck, Jolteon and Gengar is currently being auctioned for £1,200.

But that’s not even the most obscenely priced account on the site. The below level 24 account, which features an insanely powerful Arcanine, Vaporeon, Flareon, Hypno and Gengar, is currently being auctioned for £2,000.

Pokemon Go accounts aren’t the only things related to the game that are selling for an extortionate amount of cash. Several users have also snapped up domain names linked to the site, including PokemonGoAccessories.com and PokemonGoEbay.com, selling them for £10,000 and a whopping £38,000 respectively.

Though Nintendo are undoubtedly raking in the most cash from Pokemon Go, with it being reported that the company’s market value has doubled since the release of the game, it seems that its players can look to make a pretty penny out of it, too. If you want to follow in their footsteps, you best whip out those Lucky Eggs and keep throwing down those lures at your local Pokestops.
