Blink-182 Unveil New Song ‘Bored to Death,’ Their First Without Tom DeLonge

Blink-182 premiered “Bored to Death” yesterday, the first single from the band’s forthcoming album, California, set for release July 1st. It’s also the first reveal of the new Blink-182, that is, Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba. Founding guitarist/singer Tom DeLonge left the band entirely last year, opting instead to focus on UFO speculation and highly ambitious multimedia projects.

The band joined KROQ afternoon host Ted Stryker to officially play the song for the first time on the airwaves. “Bored to Death,” features the traditional Blink sound we all know, albeit with tightened percussion and sharper production. As for the voice of Blink these days, the rest of the album is said to feature Hoppus primarily on vocals, with Skiba adding harmonies throughout.
