Regardless if you think young people or old people are the bigger assholes, you have to give kudos to this lady in this story, who was finally able to complete her insane bucket list by doing one final thing: get arrested.
Forget about senior citizen that are stronger than you, Edie Simms, a 102-year-old from Missouri was able to complete her bucket list thanks to some nice folks at the Louisiana Police Department. Being handcuffed and let away in a police cruiser is something that Edie always wanted to do. Go, Edie.
Simms has been donating handmade gifts to the residents at Five Star Senior Centre in South St. Louis for years, so getting arrested was everyone’s gift to her. What an age we live in.
If you want to live as long as Simms has (and I don’t know anyone that would) Simms offers some wise words:
“You keep going, don’t ever stop, whatever it is you’re doing. And spend some time doing community service because sometimes the people that you reach out and touch, that is the only person they will talk to in a day. It’s a great world if you just open your eyes and look at it.”
But we’re too busy with our ugly mugs in our phones, lady. Thanks for trying, though. In other news, sleeping with a room full of models will be on my bucket list if I’m ever unlucky enough to see the age of 102.
