The PS4 Has an Annoying Design Flaw: It Wobbles When Placed Horizontally

The PS4 is a beautiful console, but nothing is perfect.

Following the early release of PS4 review units, some concerns have raised around the web about the console’s unevenness when placed horizontally. After some investigation, it appears it was designed with feet on the right and off-set center, but not on the left side. The result? The PS4 wobbles diagonally when moved ever so slightly.

A look underneath reveals that Sony opted for a design that looks good when stood vertically at the expense of some horizontal balance. They tried to hide the feet where the PS4’s iconic separated design is located, which is about 5 inches from the left end.

Kotaku posted a video which demonstrates the issue and offers a solution—albeit a weird one:

This isn’t a large concern, but one that could leave a few gamers agitated. Others might use it as a reason to seesaw their PS4. Given how small and light it is, there’s a chance that if you exert enough force on the left side it’ll trebuchet itself into another room.
