Pokémon GO Is Officially More Popular Than Tinder

Augmented reality app Pokémon Go may have only been out for a matter of hours, but the numbers are in and for a true Pokéfan, they aren’t surprising at all. Turns out, chasing Pokémon is far more popular than chasing tail on Tinder.

Duh, right? I mean, what physical act could rival the feeling of watching your eggs hatch and evolve as they battle? Well, now we have the numbers thanks to SimilarWeb to support such claims, given that Pokémon Go has now been downloaded and installed on even more devices than dating app Tinder.

On top of that, the data also shows that 60% of Pokémon Go users use the app even more than Instagram or Snapchat. Obvs because there’s no Pokémon there.

The huge disparity may have something to do with underage people not being allowed to use Tinder. Or that you don’t have to pay a cent for Pokémon Go. And given the notable absence of a chat function, there are far fewer creeps on Pokémon Go.

That said, it didn’t take long for the scum bags to get a hold of Pokémon Go, with instances of criminals using isolated in-game locations to target potential victims.

This leaves us with one sane response – a crossover app using the open world, free roam gameplay of Pokémon Go with the profile pictures, mutual friends and matching capabilities of Tinder.

And we shall call it Pokélove.
