Oprah Didn’t Come Out

In the August issue of O, Oprah Winfrey says that she and BFF, Gayle King, are not gay. People just misunderstand their relationship.

I understand why people think we’re gay,” she says. “There isn’t a definition in our culture for this kind of bond between women. So I get why people have to label it – how can you be this close without it being sexual?”

The article goes on to say that she and Gayle call each other four times a day, and their relationship feels “otherwordly.” The article doesn’t say that Oprah was sexually assaulted at 14, contemplated suicide over a relationship with a man in her twenties, had an ex-lover try to write a tell all book about how she smoked crack and despite living with Steadman Graham for twenty years, she is 52 and has never been married. Yeah, I can’t understand why people would think she doesn’t like dudes.

Why pictures of Marisa Miller on July 15th instead of Oprah Winfrey? I really hope nobody heard you say that.
