Josh Alexander: IMPACT Is Building The Right Way, All It Takes Is For People To Give Us A Second Chance

Josh Alexander hopes fans give IMPACT Wrestling another chance because the company is putting out some really compelling content on air right now.

During an appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Josh Alexander spoke about how IMPACT Wrestling could grow its audience and is taking the right steps to do that right now. Calling back to a previous comment where he addressed talent turnover, Alexander said IMPACT is building the right way and they just need to work on retaining talent when contract situations arise in the future.

“I think it’s all building the right way. The locker room we’ve put together is perfect. It’s all hungry people that wanna work. That quote that I had from earlier in the week, where I said that I didn’t like that IMPACT is used as a stepping stone, I think that rings true. I think that when we build stars, we need to retain them and to continue stuff like that,” he explained. “I think we need to just keep growing the roster in the same way we are.

“Like Deonna, the stuff she’s done since she came in like two years ago is bar none, probably the best stuff that IMPACT’s done, you know what I mean? And then now you have her against Taya this Saturday night for Rebellion, and someone like Taya I think would be a valuable part of this locker room,” Alexander noted. “We just need to address that stuff, and I think that that’s everything that’s happening already.”

Alexander also spoke about how expanding partnerships has been a big thing for IMPACT, pointing to his matches with New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Minoru Suzuki and Jay White as some recent examples of branching out in the right way.

“And if we continue stuff like that and bringing in people like that, I think it’s just gonna bring more eyes to us, and that’s all we need, man. I think IMPACT, we had a really great run and I think a lot of eyes fell off in the dark ages in those mid-2010s or whatever it was. But it’s rebounded nicely and it’s some of the best product out there. And I think all it takes is for people to give us a second chance, and once they do,” Alexander noted, “all those eyes are gonna be retained. It’s just whether we get them to click on them for that one time, and that’s the first goal.”
