Josh Alexander recently signed a new multi-year contract with IMPACT Wrestling, so he’ll be staying with the promotion for the foreseeable future.

In doing so, the former IMPACT World Champion bucked the trend of stars who have left the company after rising to stardom over the years. Alexander has made it clear that IMPACT Wrestling is the place that he wants to be, and this loyalty has augmented the loyalty and support he has already earned from the fans. He remains arguably the top babyface in the promotion, and while he could be called the face of IMPACT right now, he’ll have the chance to cement this status when he challenges Moose for the World Championship at the Rebellion pay-per-view on April 23.

During an appearance on the Last Minute Wrestling Podcast, Alexander noted that he practically has to pinch himself all the time because he has worked out to get to this spot. By filling the typical “face of the company role”, he explained that he embraces the responsibility that comes with it, and he wants to help the IMPACT roster get a bigger platform.

“When I started wrestling, I never even thought I would have a match,” said Alexander. “I never even thought it was possible for me to become a pro wrestler. It was just something I found that I love doing and it’s built upon that over the past 17 years. And I’ve gotten to this point where I finally got opportunities at IMPACT Wrestling and I got signed, and they put me in some big matches. I guess I worked so hard over the years that I was always ready for those opportunities when they came, so I could always hit a home run, as they say, so it’s only built upon this.

“So now being the face of IMPACT Wrestling and all that, it’s something that I don’t take lightly because there’s a ton of responsibility and I see it as me representing that entire locker room of people that I love that and I think that are deserving of a bigger platform. So if I can help that with the work I do, that’s what I gotta do.”
