Josh Alexander On Re-Signing With IMPACT Wrestling: ‘This Is Where I Want To Be’

Josh Alexander is all in with IMPACT Wrestling, as he recently re-signed with the promotion.

The former IMPACT World Champion announced that his contract expired on February 14, but upon his return at the Sacrifice event, he later revealed that he put pen to paper on a multi-year deal.

During an appearance on the Last Minute Wrestling Podcast, Alexander explained that issues with his visa voided his contract, but once he worked them out, he signed the contract because IMPACT is the place where he wants to be. He also noted that he wanted his “exit” to spotlight that he had other options on the table, but he chose to stay with the company. Alexander went on to describe how plenty of stars have left IMPACT over the years, and he believes it’s important for the promotion to keep its homegrown talent.

“I had agreed to a new contract, first up, and then my visa had a hang-up,” said Alexander. “And with the lack of a visa, my contract was also void because I need a visa for my contract to be working or whatever. I never wanted to leave. I knew I wanted to be in IMPACT Wrestling. I wanted to kind of highlight with that whole thing that I had other options, I had other offers and places I could go, but I chose IMPACT Wrestling because that’s the truth of this.

“This is where I want to be, and I’ve seen so many people over the past, you know, you can say few years, you could say decades since IMPACT started, they’ve come in IMPACT Wrestling, made a name for themselves and then used it as a stepping stone to get somewhere else. And I think if we’re gonna grow as a company, we need to retain our homegrown talent and keep them here so the fan base can grow with everything else. And that was one of my goals, man, I wanted to highlight that this is the place I want to be and I’m so happy to be here.”

Alexander will challenge Moose for the IMPACT World Championship at the Rebellion pay-per-view on April 23.
