Bobby Fish Set For Major League Wrestling Debut, Will Compete In 2021 Opera Cup Tournament

Bobby Fish is coming after the MLW Opera Cup.

Sports Illustrated confirmed Bobby Fish will make his Major League Wrestling debut, as he will appear as one of the participants in the 2021 Opera Cup.

“I’m ready to jump in headfirst into MLW, especially with the Opera Cup,” Fish says. “I welcome this new challenge. I’m in a situation now where I have extra room for creativity with what you see in the ring. That’s what I’m here to push. MLW has some very talented athletes, and I’m excited to see how we mix it up.”

The 2021 MLW Opera Cup is set to kick off on Saturday, October 2 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. The appearance will also mark Fish’s first televised wrestling appearance since he was released by WWE on August 6. Fish made his final appearance for WWE on the August 3 episode of NXT, a singles match loss to Roderick Strong. Since then, Fish has only competed once, a match on September 11 against Desean Pratt for Pennsylvania Premiere Wrestling.

In addition to Fish, the Opera Cup will also feature “Filthy” Tom Lawlor, Davey Richards, TJP, Matt Cross, and Calvin Tankman. Two more spots will be filled in the eight-man, single-elimination tournament. The 2020 tournament was won by Lawlor.
